February 2024 Newsletter

Wednesday, March 13, 2024

This is the first of our bi-monthly newsletters! We’ll keep you updated with everything going on at the dropzone so keep your eyes out for further editions throughout the year.

What’s been going on?

Our aim for 2024 is to boost our sport jumping scene. We’re determined to get the Hib Machine back to what it used to be and have got a huge amount of events lined up to achieve that.

With that being said, we had a questionable start to the year with a string of poor weather but we’ve made the most of any gaps we could find. Nick Davison hosted the first of his Tracking & Freefly Progression Weekends in February which proved hugely beneficial to those involved. Unfortunately the weather Gods denied Ash Mohanty’s Load Organising but thankfully, we ended the month on a high with Ally Milne’s big-way head-up group. They are working towards breaking a UK Head-Up record in May with a 24-way!

We also welcomed back Leeds University Skydivers who have started ground schools with us again. Along with York University, we will be hosting plenty of AFF Courses throughout the year.

Alongside our skydiving activites, we wanted to show this absolutely stunning and well timed photo of our Cessna Caravan passing in front of the moon. Thank you David Ford for a one in a million photo, we love it.
