  Nationals Rules - 2009

bullet The dropzone used for the competition will the student cross, NOT the experienced landing area at the front of the main buildings.
bullet There will be many more cars on the dropzone over the Nationals weekends. Please try to keep to the designated car parks and overflows so that the farm tractors can get through.
bullet As a National event, any loud noise will not be tolerated. Many teams will have spent a lot of time, money and commitment preparing for their competition. Waking them up in the middle of the night could directly affect their performance in the sky.
bullet All team leaders will be responsible for their team being checked out before they get on the bus and when they arrive back at the packing hangar. It is especially important that the team leader checks-in with Dropzone Control. Aircraft will be dropping every few minutes and without this coordination, things will rapidly grind to a halt.
bullet Anti-doping rules will be in place. This means you can be tested at any point before, during and after the competition. Even if you are an asthmatic please let the judges know by way of a letter from your doctor. More information can be found here -

http://www.bpa.org.uk/antidoping.htm.

bullet Videographers - please do not show your footage to anyone before you have submitted it to the judges and it has been judged.

  General Rules

bullet Please keep to a 10 mph speed limit on the dropzone. The farmer has his dog which is loose.
bullet No animals may be brought to the dropzone without prior consent (call the dropzone on 01652 648837 to discuss).
bullet If you land in the crop, please leave via the shortest route following the crop line.
bullet The farm buildings and adjacent land is out of bounds. The fuel compound is also out of bounds.
bullet Strictly No Smoking allowed around aircraft, re-fuelling points or the fuel compound. There is also no smoking in all buildings now. Please smoke in the designated smoking areas.
bullet Please keep the airfield and centre tidy. The bins are provided for rubbish.
bullet The Team Leader of each team will be considered the Jumpmaster for that team and should ensure that Target Skysports rules and regulations are adhered to
bullet It is the Jumpmasters responsibility to ensure that he / she is familiar with all aircraft procedures.
bullet Good canopy separation will be expected on opening and low pulling will not be tolerated. A good example of this is not spiralling down under canopy to beat the team who jump before you. Please also judge what is good exit separation between groups. If you are unsure, ask the CCI or the pilot what the upper wind speeds are doing.
bullet Broadband PCs available in the games room. There is also a wireless connection for you to use on your laptops in the main area and the bunkrooms.

  Tips for a Speedy Competition
Target Skysports is renowned as a dropzone with a fast turnaround of aircraft. For the Nationals weekends we will be running out fleet of Dornier G92's (15 place aircraft) and a backup aircraft SMG92 (10 place aircraft). Last year we were dropping at a rate of one load every 5 to 6 minutes, to do this you can help us:

bullet Please make sure you are ready to go before you get on the bus which takes you to the aircraft. This means kit checks and booties!
bullet When you arrive at the emplaning point, please get on the aircraft and sit down as quickly as possible. If we shave 30 seconds of each load by taking off faster, we will do extra loads in the day.
bullet When you land, please gather your kit quickly and get on the waiting bus.
bullet If you are a part of more than one team (team players and videographers), please let the dropzone know so that the correct manifesting order can be worked out.
bullet If one of your team mates lands off or has a malfunction, let DZ control know ASAP so that they can be recovered and your team's load number altered accordingly.
bullet If you plan to use packers, always keep them informed and make sure they know what timeframe your are working to. The dropzone will always make sure you get your mandatory minimum 40 minutes between loads. But be warned there have been many occasions when the gap between jumps is actually 40 minutes.

As much as the dropzone does not want this to happen, if you are late for your bus, it will not wait for you and your team will score a 0 for that round.
