The day has finished, the sun is setting and the bar is open. Kit and Docs will be open from 7:30 tomorrow morning and the competition registration closes at 8:30 am tomorrow morning.

26th September 2008 16:00

Several CF teams have turned up, and are getting a little last minute practice. Pat Hammond is back at Hib once again and teaching CF to some of the newer competitors. We're all looking forward to watching a little CF video on the camtrix system tonight in the bar.

26th September 2008 09:55

Tomorrow the CF Nationals begins, as does the 8 Way Speed competition. This morning wasn't a promising start with a dense layer of sea mist covering the airfield.

It did make for a few nice photos, but certainly not good enough for jumping, let alone the CF events.

Ok that's it for the moment and this page will no longer be updated. Tomorrow, its the FS page. Team names for the scores page will be updated soon.

The draw has just been handed out and was drawn live by Karla. Evidently, we are not using the ESL draw as in the last few years. There are 46 teams registered.

Noel and Roxanne at the BBQ Jumping has been called for the day and the judges are preparing the draw. The BBQ has been served up on time with lots of cooked meats, fresh salads, cakes and garybaldy biscuits.

The rain has closed in, fortunately most teams had done their practice jumps. Noel and his crew are now preparing BBQ! Most teams have registered including quite a few scratch teams who just formed this afternoon by hovering around the office.

Last year, the 4-way VFS was an exhibition event with 1 team. This year sees its first Nationals held at the same time as the 4-way Formation Skydiving discipline. Although it comes from Freefly, it has more in common with 4-way because of its structure and points system, therefore it is being held at the same.

There are 2 teams known at the moment, Outbreak Vertical and a team called with NTR made up of the Volare boys Mike Carpenter, Killer, Frasier Smith and Chris Lynch.

22nd August 2008 14:40

Good afternoon folks. Apologies for no updates today. The internet connection here at Hibaldstow has been down.

So what's been happening? The weather has been reasonable today with many teams arriving early to get their practice 'feel good' jumps in. Nothing particularly technical or difficult, just jumps which which help everyone to be in a good mood for Round 1. The judges are turning up in dribs and drabs with Karla Cole arriving a couple of hours ago.

There is a real sense of excitement on the dropzone (except for filling in all the paperwork!). The draws is not due until later tonight and they will be posted as soon as they become available.
