Weekend 10th to 12th February

After yet another dousing of snow, all eyes were on the DZ to see if jumpers would get a chance to skydive over the white fields of Hibaldstow. Luckily as skydivers arrived Friday they were greeted with a usable runway and some of the more visually inspiring backdrops of the year. To the excitement of everyone involved, the aircraft took off and flew several sorties Friday providing some amazing visuals to jump over.

The yearly Safety Day was planned for this weekend and with it seminars covering a whole host of concepts and issue, but with the weather being so pleasant the learning took second place to some great skydives. Both coaching and organising took place and with it some funky shapes were thrown out and some good progress was made.

The safety quiz as ever was well received but quizees particularly enjoyed the catchphrase round where teams had to guess what common phrase was being covered by the images. Can you work these out?

The weather did close in Sunday however but this was the perfect time for the safety talks and so jumpers got the chance to participate in seminars designed to give them food for though. Skydives participated in discussion such as what to prioritise after deployment and how to fly a landing pattern and all came away having learned something new.

We're going to start up Friday Seminars again so if you have any feelings on what you want to see please email stu@Skydiving.co.uk and let us know.
