Alzheimer's Research UK
Alzheimer’s Research UK
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity, who fund research throughout the country, collaborate with scientists around the world, to find better forms of diagnosis, preventions, treatments and ultimately a cure for Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
Every three minutes someone in the UK develops a form of dementia and there are 850,000 people in the UK living with dementia today and with an aging population this figure is set to rise.
As well as causing anguish for families, carers and loved ones, dementia costs the UK economy 23 billion a year, which is more than the cost of heart disease and stroke combined. Yet despite this, compared to other serious diseases, dementia research remains drastically underfunded.
Alzheimer’s Research UK believe they have the power to defeat dementia.
