HERIB
HERIB stands for the Hull and East Riding Institute for the Blind and provides care and support for those with any kind of visual impairment. For many years, they have organised tandem skydives with Skydive Hibaldstow.
The centre based in Hull is large and friendly. Visitors can spend time there making friends, or also just popping in for a hot meal and a chat.
These days out can be some of the only contact some of the more elderly visitors will have with anyone. Outing are organised for children and adults alike enabling them to enjoy activities they might not otherwise be easily able to partake in themselves.
Teaching those to learn to live with a recent impairment is crucial in helping people rebuild their lives. It is impossible to imagine how you would learn to use your kitchen again or complete the most basic of tasks such as when to stop pouring to fill up your cup of tea. HERIB helps in many ways including practical hands-on teaching as well as making the latest technologies available to demonstrate.
HERIB is entirely self-funded and receives no government support, so every penny you can help raise will make a huge difference to the charities ability to help those with visual impairments.
How much does it cost?
HERIB ask that you raise a minimum of £400 in sponsorship. This covers the deposit and cost of the skydive and a minimum donation to the charity.
| Cost per Person | |
| Advance deposit to secure your place payable to HERIB | £50 |
| Partial sponsorship payable to HERIB 6 weeks before jump | £150 |
| Final sponsorship payable to HERIB one month after jump | £200 |
Every extra penny over this amount also goes to the charity so try and raise as much as you possibly can.
When can I jump?
The charity has an event planned on Saturday 28th July so why not join them?
Places are reserved for the charity until six weeks before the jump date, so make sure you book your place in time.
If you can't make the above date then don't worry, you are welcome to arrange an alternative date for your skydive.
Full Booking details will be available soon, but in the meantime please just contact the Skydive Hibaldstow Booking Office, or Angela Gregory directly at HERIB.
