The staff and manifest are awesome, just what you want for a fun drop zone, that you can progress with and also get some serious jumping in as well.
I’ve been jumping at Skydive Hibaldstow regularly, since August 2012. I found the progression with FS was fantastic, with load organising and events events that were aimed at a certain level, it provided a good clear track on how to improve. The fleet of turbine aircraft that they own is just fantastic, quickly gets you up to 15k feet and great to launch out of. The new club house is amazing, probably one of the best in the country, along with a great bar. The staff and manifest are awesome, just what you want for a fun drop zone, that you can progress with and also get some serious jumping in as well.
They've increased the amount of LOing and coaching available in all disciplines, they built their classy new building and they've started doing excellent food.
I’ve been jumping frequently at Hib for over 3 years. It’s a great dropzone for fun jumping because there is so much organising going on that you can just turn up and know there’ll be people to jump with, you don’t have to worry about going alone. In the time I’ve been going, Hib has only improved. They’ve increased the amount of LOing and coaching available in all disciplines, they built their classy new building and they’ve started doing excellent food. All the facilities are so good I often don’t leave the DZ for the whole weekend. When there’s no jumping, their great social scene, cocktails and evening events make up for it!
The most amazing experience you can ever have!
Tandem skydive October 18th 2017
The most amazing experience you can ever have. As somebody who is registered blind the sensations that you get are out of this world. The wind the noise and the racing heart all go to making it absolutely brilliant.
Sarah and I did the jump to raise funds for the Rotherham Sight and Sound minibus appeal. This is a sensory service in Rotherham for both the visually impaired and the hearing impaired.
From the very start everything went as smooth as clockwork with the booking and all the information given. Our first jump date in September unfortunately had to be cancelled due to lightning and bad weather over the airfield.
This time things ran smoothly and the weather was OK so we were able to jump. Massive thanks must go to our instructors Baldrick and Andy who were very professional but funny as well ……… calming our nerves LOL. The girls in reception came out and looked after our Guide Dogs and this allowed our “supporters” to take photos although I think they just wanted to make a fuss of them. The dogs I mean LOL
The whole experience was amazing and we are thinking of doing it again next year, hopefully with other friends and group members, as the feeling you get is out of this world. You have to experience it to get the adrenaline rush !!!!!!!!!!!!
5 star service all round.
A thoroughly awe inspiring experience made better by the guys there. Thank you!
To say I was nervous was a huge understatement! I’d booked as a group after raising money for a cancer charity and due to circumstances only a few of us were there. Without me saying much (maybe the reason!!) Jonno took my hand and led me to the plane and what a little star he was! Laughing and joking to ease my nerves whilst reassuring at the same time. A thoroughly awe inspiring experience made better by the guys there. Thank you!
I would definitely recommend Skydive Hibaldstow to anyone thinking of doing a skydive!
Everyone at Skydive Hibaldstow were amazing and very reassuring, making this unbelievable experience even better with minimal worry. Cannot thank my instructor Bryn and cameraman Brad enough for making this a truly incredible experience. I would definitely recommend Skydive Hibaldstow to anyone thinking of doing a skydive!
This was a great day and a marvelous experience!
This was a great day and a marvelous experience.
Arrival to the airfield gives a false impression of the sort of experience you are going to receive. The airfield doesn’t have the best of entrances, but once you walk to reception passed the hangers and planes, the whole feel changes. It is smart, welcoming and allows both “jumpers” and supporters some excellent facilities.
Once over the paperwork hurdle and weigh in, the briefing is slick and not too onerous. You meet your tandem partner and if you booked a video, your cameraman as well. Then you wait for the right slot of weather.
The centre warns you that you may have to wait 3-4 hours in extreme situations, either cloud or wind or rain have a significant bearing on whether it is safe to fly and jump. On my first visit my jump was cancelled and I had to re-arrange because of low cloud. The centre personnel were upfront about this and really helpful about changing dates and time slots.
On my day, the weather was fine and although I had to wait a little while for the wind to pick up, I got my chance.
Karl was my instructor and he was calm and clear. Suited and booted we got into our gear – jumpsuit, helmet, gloves and harness and off we set towards the plane. On the way I had a quick interview with the cameraman and then we were quickly into the plane to take our flight.
The ascent took longer than expected to 15,000ft, but at the top it was moments before we were standing at the door to jump. The hanging experience was a bit weird, you definitely place a whole lot of faith into your tandem partner, then off you go!
The experience of freefall was a great adrenalin rush. Definitely worth all the effort in signing up and travel. [Not going to spoil the fun by telling too much]
The parachute ride once the canopy was opened was spectacular and on my clear day, you could see for miles and easily pick out key geographical features and places.
Landing was smooth and comfortable. After yet another videoed interview, we returned to the airfield centre to have a drink and meet up again with family and friends to wait for the video to be processed. In my case this was not too long. Neil did a great job and I have a lasting memory of the whole day.
I left with a certificate, video, a t-shirt and mug (both extra) and a big smile on my face.
I am seriously considering returning, not just to do another tandem jump but to do a solo jump. This is a reflection on how much I enjoyed the day and the interaction with staff and instructors/tandem parachutists.
Overall rating of day – Excellent.
The skydive itself was absolutely incredible- great people both for tandem and camera crew, couldn't have asked for more!! I'm hooked and can't wait to be back with you again for my next one!!!
Had an amazing day here yesterday doing a skydive raising money and awareness for Ataxia UK. Having previously been to a different airfield but had to reschedule due to weather, realising how brilliant the facilities are here was wonderful – both my elderly granddad and my dad with severe mobility issues due to ataxia were made comfortable, and we had a brilliant day – the communication throughout changing weather conditions was perfect and very much appreciated. The skydive itself was absolutely incredible- great people both for tandem and camera crew, couldn’t have asked for more!! I’m hooked and can’t wait to be back with you again for my next one!!! Thank you x
He was smiling from ear to ear when he landed. He said it's by far the best thing he's ever done!
Have been around a bit doing some fairly interesting stuff in my time so I know a good place when I see one. Very well organised, excellent systems, exacting safety standards and clearly lots of excellent training.
Just had a fab day jumping with my daughter. Thanks to Baldrick who flew her and Marcus who flew me – true professionals and yet huge fun too – a great skill. Have been around a bit doing some fairly interesting stuff in my time so I know a good place when I see one. Very well organised, excellent systems, exacting safety standards and clearly lots of excellent training. Cannot speak highly enough of these guys. Thank you.
SOLO all the way, if you're thinking about doing it, stop thinking, just do it, I guarantee there is nothing else like it!
Did my AFF level one yesterday, the most intense blow to the senses I’ve ever had! It’s a bit of an undertaking with the full day ground school but it’s needed, it’s all the REALLY important stuff. SOLO all the way, if you’re thinking about doing it, stop thinking, just do it, I guarantee there is nothing else like it!
When we landed I couldn't stop smiling. I will never be the best skydiver but yesterday I must have been one of the happiest!
My friend and I did a charity Skydive for the Snowdrop Project based in Sheffield. The day was perfect. We had our briefing at 9.30 and went straight from that to get ready and off we went. It was fantastic! The reception staff were efficient and couldn’t have been more helpful. My photographer, Mike took a great video and some wonderful if mostly unflattering photos. But I would mostly like to thank my instructor, Neil, who couldn’t have been more helpful and patient. Because of this I never felt nervous just very relaxed and excited. When we landed I couldn’t stop smiling. I will never be the best skydiver but yesterday I must have been one of the happiest!
Absolutely amazing place with amazing people who are so friendly and such an out of this world experience!
Absolutely amazing place with amazing people who are so friendly and such an out of this world experience! I had the pleasure of jumping with Rob and he made my jumping experience perfect, I couldn’t have asked for better! You can’t get a better bunch than the guys here! Thank you for a day to remember! 10/10 would recommend!
Landing perfectly my wife came over to us with a big smile, although she felt nauseous she knew she had made a great effort and raised almost £1,000 for charity.
My wife, who has done more than a hundred long haul flights, has to take tranquillisers before getting on a plane, signed up to do a skydive to raise money for cancer charities. To say I was shocked on hearing what she was planning to do is an understatement. However, we went along to Hibaldstow Skydive Centre along with a number of her colleagues and we arrived there was a low mist and we had to wait several hours before any flights could go. The facilities at Hibaldstow are very good and there is a cafeteria serving a variety of snacks etc, decent quality and not particularly expensive either.
Having been there for about three hours the flights began to take off and it was quite a spectacle as the experienced skydivers were coming down right in front of us. Of course the first timers were skydiving in tandem with professionals who all seemed really nice guys.
My wife’s flight took off and it seemed ages before anything happened. The went up to 15,000 feet (almost three miles) before jumping out of the plane. We couldn’t even see the plane at that height.
The first we saw of the divers was when the parachutes opened; they had been freefalling at around 120mph for about a minute before we could actually see them.
It then took them around a further five minutes to reach terra firma. Landing perfectly my wife came over to us with a big smile, although she felt nauseous she knew she had made a great effort and raised almost £1,000 for charity.
Many of her sponsors thought she was crazy although very brave; actually I was jealous and I’m considering doing it myself maybe next year.
A good day out even if you just go and watch people that you don’t even know.
All Staff friendly and made you feel at ease. Hope to do it all again next year!
Thanks for a truly brilliant day on Saturday 5th August 2017. We both had a great day with my instructor Karen and Kens instructor Marcus both brilliant. All Staff friendly and made you feel at ease. Hope to do it all again next year.
