Unbelievable experience, combination of being petrified and elated; still buzzing!

Unbelievable experience, combination of being petrified and elated; still buzzing! Wanted to say how brilliant, supportive, comforting and professional my instructor was (Chris) he was so calm and took all my fears in his stride; definitely recommend this!

It started with a charity skydive and I have now completed over 1000 jumps getting all my qualifications which have allowed me to compete in the National Championships!

I have been skydiving at Skydive Hibaldstow for the last 10 years. It started with a charity skydive and I have now completed over 1000 jumps getting all my qualifications which have allowed me to compete in the National Championships. What I like about the dropzone is the high altitude – 15,000ft which gives me lots of lovely freefall time. It’s also close to where I live in Leeds. I would definately recommend this place as a centre to make your first skydive.

The staff are true pro's and soon have you at ease.

Easy place to reach with great facilities. The staff are true pro’s and soon have you at ease. That allowed me to relax and make the most of the whole experience, which I enjoyed immensely and would heartily reccommed to anyone. My instructor Noel made it a day to remember, which my camera man Wez did a fantastic job of capturing. My sincere thanks. Superb!

What a marvellous experience falling from the skies on a Thursday afternoon!

What a marvellous experience falling from the skies on a Thursday afternoon. Everything about the skydive was amazing and the helpful and friendly airfield staff could not be faulted. Special thanks to Andy my instructor who made sure everything went smoothly and ensured that I felt safe and in full knowledge of what was happening at all times. The weather did not behave itself during the morning but the clouds and wind did sort themselves out eventually and although we left the plane into snow/ice once through the clouds the sun was out and the views amazing. Thank you to everyone at Hibaldstow for an unforgettable experience, and to Luigi the cameraman who has ensured on video and photos that I can relive the day as often as I like.

I've been unable to replicate the grin that was on my face when I got back down on solid ground but will be back VERY soon to do the rest of the AFF jumps!!

After doing a tandem jump at Hibaldstow last year I loved it so much I decided I wanted more. Last week it was time to make this happen (with a little help of Santa) and on Wednesday I checked in for my AFF level1 course, starting with day of ‘ground-school. The course is designed to get you to jump solo as quick as possible so it’s quite a full on day of information and practicing all elements of the jump. However, it’s all done in a methodical way so everything comes together and makes sense in the end. Groups are small so there’s plenty of time for everybody (I was on my own in class though, so basically had a private course)

The jump itself was absolutely fantastic and probably the most empowering thing I’ve ever done. To jump out of that plane and get yourself down on the ground again, floating through the air and then flying your own parachute is just and amazing thing to do. Then when you get back you can relive it all again during the video de-brief:-)

And yes, of course I was nervous getting on the plane (and had been for much of the day waiting for the right weather window, and the day before…) but as soon as that door opens you have so much to focus on that there is no place for nerves anymore.

All staff and instructors that I’ve dealt with have been great, from admin to ‘ground school’ to actually jumping out of the plane with me. Saying that, there’s a general nice atmosphere around, a concoction of excitement, concentration, determination, calmness, nerves, and a hint of fear and boredom (the latter for the waiting element). A great mix!!

I’ve been unable to replicate the grin that was on my face when I got back down on solid ground but will be back VERY soon to do the rest of the AFF jumps!!

The experience was AWESOME! As soon as we landed I couldn't wait to go back up again.

31 of us came over from Harrogate on 9 July 2017 and skydived for a local charity – Saint Michael’s Hospice. The whole day was fantastic from start to finish. A completely professional operation, with very friendly people.

Big thanks to my instructor, Noel who reassured me the whole way throughout and also the cameraman Darren who got some amazing video footage.

The experience was AWESOME! As soon as we landed I couldn’t wait to go back up again.

Thank you so much for making it the experience of a lifetime.

Really impressed with evertyhing at Hibalstow!! My partner loved the skydive and had a day he wont ever forget!

I booked a tandem skydive for my partners 30th. I found the customer care team really helpful. On the day reception were friendly and welcoming. Staff went the extra mile and catered for our needs ( storing cupcakes and dancing around with 30th birthday banners). We booked the video package and was not disappointed! The camera man was super cool. The man who jumped with my partner made him feel right at ease. Everyone made the day so special and personal too. We got everthing back (certificate, usb) with happy 30th on. Really impressed with evertyhing at Hibalstow!! My partner loved the skydive and had a day he wont ever forget! Thanks guys x

My instructor Noel made my day and experience so much better and I honestly cant thank him enough for putting up with my nerves.

I cant recommend sky diving at Hibalstow enough and will defiantly be going again!

Thanks again and see you again soon.

The staff and manifest are awesome, just what you want for a fun drop zone, that you can progress with and also get some serious jumping in as well.

I’ve been jumping at Skydive Hibaldstow regularly, since August 2012. I found the progression with FS was fantastic, with load organising and events events that were aimed at a certain level, it provided a good clear track on how to improve. The fleet of turbine aircraft that they own is just fantastic, quickly gets you up to 15k feet and great to launch out of. The new club house is amazing, probably one of the best in the country, along with a great bar. The staff and manifest are awesome, just what you want for a fun drop zone, that you can progress with and also get some serious jumping in as well.

They've increased the amount of LOing and coaching available in all disciplines, they built their classy new building and they've started doing excellent food.

I’ve been jumping frequently at Hib for over 3 years. It’s a great dropzone for fun jumping because there is so much organising going on that you can just turn up and know there’ll be people to jump with, you don’t have to worry about going alone. In the time I’ve been going, Hib has only improved. They’ve increased the amount of LOing and coaching available in all disciplines, they built their classy new building and they’ve started doing excellent food. All the facilities are so good I often don’t leave the DZ for the whole weekend. When there’s no jumping, their great social scene, cocktails and evening events make up for it!

The most amazing experience you can ever have!

Tandem skydive October 18th 2017

The most amazing experience you can ever have. As somebody who is registered blind the sensations that you get are out of this world. The wind the noise and the racing heart all go to making it absolutely brilliant.

Sarah and I did the jump to raise funds for the Rotherham Sight and Sound minibus appeal. This is a sensory service in Rotherham for both the visually impaired and the hearing impaired.

From the very start everything went as smooth as clockwork with the booking and all the information given. Our first jump date in September unfortunately had to be cancelled due to lightning and bad weather over the airfield.

This time things ran smoothly and the weather was OK so we were able to jump. Massive thanks must go to our instructors Baldrick and Andy who were very professional but funny as well ……… calming our nerves LOL. The girls in reception came out and looked after our Guide Dogs and this allowed our “supporters” to take photos although I think they just wanted to make a fuss of them. The dogs I mean LOL

The whole experience was amazing and we are thinking of doing it again next year, hopefully with other friends and group members, as the feeling you get is out of this world. You have to experience it to get the adrenaline rush !!!!!!!!!!!!

5 star service all round.

A thoroughly awe inspiring experience made better by the guys there. Thank you!

To say I was nervous was a huge understatement! I’d booked as a group after raising money for a cancer charity and due to circumstances only a few of us were there. Without me saying much (maybe the reason!!) Jonno took my hand and led me to the plane and what a little star he was! Laughing and joking to ease my nerves whilst reassuring at the same time. A thoroughly awe inspiring experience made better by the guys there. Thank you!

I would definitely recommend Skydive Hibaldstow to anyone thinking of doing a skydive!

Everyone at Skydive Hibaldstow were amazing and very reassuring, making this unbelievable experience even better with minimal worry. Cannot thank my instructor Bryn and cameraman Brad enough for making this a truly incredible experience. I would definitely recommend Skydive Hibaldstow to anyone thinking of doing a skydive!

This was a great day and a marvelous experience!

This was a great day and a marvelous experience.

Arrival to the airfield gives a false impression of the sort of experience you are going to receive. The airfield doesn’t have the best of entrances, but once you walk to reception passed the hangers and planes, the whole feel changes. It is smart, welcoming and allows both “jumpers” and supporters some excellent facilities.

Once over the paperwork hurdle and weigh in, the briefing is slick and not too onerous. You meet your tandem partner and if you booked a video, your cameraman as well. Then you wait for the right slot of weather.

The centre warns you that you may have to wait 3-4 hours in extreme situations, either cloud or wind or rain have a significant bearing on whether it is safe to fly and jump. On my first visit my jump was cancelled and I had to re-arrange because of low cloud. The centre personnel were upfront about this and really helpful about changing dates and time slots.

On my day, the weather was fine and although I had to wait a little while for the wind to pick up, I got my chance.

Karl was my instructor and he was calm and clear. Suited and booted we got into our gear – jumpsuit, helmet, gloves and harness and off we set towards the plane. On the way I had a quick interview with the cameraman and then we were quickly into the plane to take our flight.

The ascent took longer than expected to 15,000ft, but at the top it was moments before we were standing at the door to jump. The hanging experience was a bit weird, you definitely place a whole lot of faith into your tandem partner, then off you go!

The experience of freefall was a great adrenalin rush. Definitely worth all the effort in signing up and travel. [Not going to spoil the fun by telling too much]

The parachute ride once the canopy was opened was spectacular and on my clear day, you could see for miles and easily pick out key geographical features and places.

Landing was smooth and comfortable. After yet another videoed interview, we returned to the airfield centre to have a drink and meet up again with family and friends to wait for the video to be processed. In my case this was not too long. Neil did a great job and I have a lasting memory of the whole day.

I left with a certificate, video, a t-shirt and mug (both extra) and a big smile on my face.

I am seriously considering returning, not just to do another tandem jump but to do a solo jump. This is a reflection on how much I enjoyed the day and the interaction with staff and instructors/tandem parachutists.

Overall rating of day – Excellent.
