The end of the season always seems to come along so quickly! It feels like only a few weeks ago that we were prepping for operating 7 days a week and waiting for the good weather to kick in.
After multiple heatwaves and tonnes of jumping, it’s starting to feel like the autumn days are upon us.
In July, Tom Dent organised a record-breaking multi-plane event led by Jack Davies, Matt Cumming and Jodie-Leigh Foster. This included a new British record – a 2-point 43-way total break sequential! Congratulations to everyone involved. We are looking to do plenty more multi-plane events next year so keep your eyes peeled.

August saw instructor Logan Humphreys and regular sport jumpers Kristina Foo and Jack Brear enter the Artistic Freefly Nationals Category B at Skydive Netheravon. They brought home a respectable silver! Well done, guys.
The biggest event in our calendar was once again the National Championships in 4-Way Formation Skydiving. The first day was definitely testing – we were on weather hold for most of the day but managed to squeeze one or two jumps in per category. The Hib Machine came alive on the second day and we smashed out the rest of the jumps with minutes of sunlight to spare! Congratulations and thank you to all teams who competed – not least team SOAR (pictured) who got gold in AAA.

As the peak season comes to an end, don’t let that put you off jumping. There will still be plenty of loads going and September often has some glorious weather. Just as a reminder, we are now back to operating Wednesday through to Sunday. We will also start to say goodbye to some of the seasonal staff so make sure you’re here to say your goodbyes and have the tissues at the ready.
