Welcome to autumn, everyone. This season has been a nice change from last year – it felt like we actually had decent weather.

The first big news from September was Chief Instructor Karl taking over from Noel. We want to firstly thank Noel for all of his time as CI over the years but also for teaching his successor everything he knows! Karl has been part of the furniture at Hibaldstow for over 16 years when he started his AFF (aged 16!) so we can’t think of anyone more fitting than him to oversee safety here at the dropzone. To top off a big year for Karl, he also got married in October to the love of his life Emily in front of plenty of staff from Hib. Congratulations, Karl!

In September, Jim Bradwell and Sian Stokes hosted the Formation Load Sequential 2025. It was a huge hit as always with plenty of jumps and a performance from Winging It. Keep your eyes out for more big way action next season.

October saw the British University Skydivers wreaking havoc on the clubhouse with their Freshers’ weekend. There were talks, activities and not much in the way of jumping but the bar definitely did well.

Lastly, we have said goodbye to our seasonal staff for the year. Thank you to jump staff Marta, Jake, Ryan and Logan as well as Andy, Maisie and Owen in the packing shed. We wish you all the best in your next endeavours and would love to have you back.

As we begin the shorter days (who doesn’t love a 4pm sunset?), don’t forget we are still operating Wednesday through to Sunday every week. Keep an eye out for our Christmas closing dates and a Christmas party.
