Welcome to 2026! We hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year.

We’re hoping this year brings as much glorious weather as the last, however what we’ve seen so far hasn’t exactly filled us with confidence. We’ve only managed to squeeze a few days of jumping in over January and February due to the poor weather but the hardcore jumpers took every opportunity and made the most of it. Not only that but we managed to get four A Licences and a B Licence – pretty good going for winter. Thank you for your commitment.

Firstly, over winter we knocked down our old tandem briefing room and moved it over to the warmth of the clubhouse.

Next time you’re at the dropzone, you’ll see our brand spanking new briefing room in the back corner where the Jedi stand used to be.

Please refrain from hanging out in there during the jumping day as we will be needing it.

For all your gear needs, you’ll notice the Jedi stand is now up on the stage.

We’d like to say a huge congratulations to Noel who has recently joined the board of directors at British Skydiving.

His knowledge and expertise will now help shape the future of the sport in our country. I’m sure you’ll all join us in saying that he will be a great asset to the board and best of luck to him.

In February, our sister dropzone Skydive Spain hosted the European Skydiving Symposium where hundreds of skydivers descended from all over the continent to talk all things skydiving.

Noel and Karl represented Hib throughout the event including a talk from Noel on safety management systems for rigging with a big turnout, so there were no doubt some nerves from him.

Here’s some photo’s of all the action from our community including those who went to British Skydiving’s AGM, a rather cold jump, some A-licence achievements and a 100 jump certificate. Well done everyone!

As the new season gets underway, make sure you renew your memberships before March 31st. We will also be doing a full kit and docs for each jumper after this date so make sure you bring everything with you to the DZ.

We hope you’re all buzzing for the year ahead as much as we are. There is plenty to look forward to so keep an eye out for what’s coming up – it’s going to be a good one.
