British Head Down Record Weekend

Monday, September 9, 2013

With the close of the Nationals, it’s important to remember that even though the competitive season is over the skydiving season is very much not.

To celeberate this, and of course to use our fleet of aircraft which are rarely on site together, the Bad Leutenants planned a weekend celebrating all that is big about British Freefly. With the record set at 28-way, the team were looking at building a bigger shape for 2013.

Early attempts at larger formations were hit and miss, resulting in the group being reduced in size as the day went on.

The sunset formation load took off for one last chance at the record but though spirits were high, the formation did not build.

The weather proved fruitful on Sunday however and with a bit of beer and a nights sleep the team awoke with renewed vigor. The group finally managed to break their own record and build a stunning 30-way over Skydive Hibaldstow.

Congratulations to all involved. Let’s go bigger next year!
