St. Andrews Children’s Hospice

Andy’s at St Andrew’s Hospice offers free palliative care to children and young people from birth to the age of 25 with any progressive life-limiting illness.

Patients visit the hospice from the whole of Lincolnshire, Hull and the East Riding. The hospice is used mainly for respite care, whether it is for the day or an in-patient stay.

Services also include home liaison to provide support and advice in the home, where they are also able to offer complementary therapies. Family Support Workers offer support for families on emotional and social care issues, and there’s a monthly carers’ support group. Counselling can take place at Andy’s at St Andrew’s Hospice and at home, and a chaplain is on hand for spiritual support.

Andy’s at St Andrew’s Hospice is a home from home; they have about 120 members of staff, enabling them to provide 24-hour care, seven days a week, and 475 volunteers who support all aspects of the hospice.
