Christmas Party 2014

Date posted:
Monday, 8 December, 2014

One of our best weekend parties of the year is the Christmas Party weekend. It's a chance to do a little skydiving and have a few beers, celebrating the Christmas season.

This year the game was upped an instead of a buffet type meal the DZ decided to run a formal meal with three courses on classic round tables.

A stunning formal affair it was.

One of the other functions of the party is to award and recognise excellence (and other things) and this year the show was a great one.

This year's winner of Freefall Spammer of the year was none other than International Record holder Kathryn Campbell who slipped off the step and accidentally keyed a 45-way...

Next up was Richard Cotton who won Faceplanter for a series of slippery landings.

Boozehound this year could only be Henry Chow who's famous afterparties have now need an invite.

The real awards this year:

Student of the Year - Ravnoor Gill for facing adversity again and again and finally acheiving her A-cert.

Experienced Jumper of the Year - Jack Davies, for working from failing AFF level 7 to formation loads in a season.

Coach of the Year: Richard Cotton, Karl Peart, Liz Boniface and Julia Foxwell for their continued efforts to progress jumpers. All candidates received the same number of votes.

Team of the Year - Team Kintama for winning Single A with a landslide score.

Skydiver of the Year - Matt Lancaster for his acheivements as a camera flyer and his nw enthusiasm for wingsuiting.

Congratulations to everyone involved and thanks to everyone who made the night so special.

It's been a great season.
