Here at Skydive Hibaldstow, we offer lots of different skydiving opportunties to those who are new and already qualified, but one of the courses we are most proud of is our long history of charity tandem skydiving courses. It combines two of our favourite things – new jumpers and doing some good for local charitable causes.
Back in 1993, when we first moved to the old WW2 airfield of Hibaldstow in Lincolnshire, we brought tandem jumping to the area and started to organise events with local charities. Since then, we estimate that we have helped over a quarter of a million willing adventurers to tandem skydive in the UK whilst raising money for charity.
For many customers, the UK skydive works with a connection and for many, it could be a family member or friend who has been ill. There’s also the category of eco and environmental protection around the world. For some it might be a love of animals and wanting to support their favourite rescue such as Pets As Therapy or Cats Protection. We work with many from local to national and all are just as important to us as the next.
“I decided to raise money for Heart Research UK, because there is a long history of heart disease in our family. Whilst, I’m still here, I want to do my bit to find cures” Mark Thompson“
Once you know which charity you want to fundraise for, you will have the option to join a larger group or organised day. You will also usually have the option to pick your own day and effectively be organising your own mini-event.
We have a dedicated team to look after you, so if you have any questions contact them on 01652 648837 or charity@skydiving.co.uk and we will be more than happy to help
We find that most of our charity skydivers choose the fundraising model where a part of the monies collected goes to pay for the cost of the jump, with the rest going to the charity. Most charities will either ask for a minimum fundraise or expect that less than 50% collected goes to pay for the jump.
See below a guide to Skydiving for charity for more information.
The second option is that 100% of the monies you collect will go to the charity. The cost of the jump will be financed entirely by yourself. The charity will earn more money and in some cases, the public are likely to give more as 100% as they feel it is more targeted.

Below is a guide to who can take part.
For many this is a difficult question to answer, but we like to think it’s better than you can possibly imagine. For a start, it’s closer to the feeling of swimming you get where every part of your body is supported. Obviously it’s dry and a lot noisier!
The views are amazing from the moment the door opens, to the moment you land gently under our parachute designed for two. You can expect to reach the speed of around 120mph securely strapped to one of our trusty instructors. Because you are jumping with one of our instructors, he looks after everything – the exit, a good freefall body position, knowing what altitude to open, the navigation and making you feel safe.
